Pause and Breathe

We all had great expectations for 2021.  Whilst I believe things will turn around, life is hard right now, so I thought I'd share some quick tips on taking care of ourselves.

We are all busy, so these can be done in less than 5 mins around activities you already do.

Pause and Breathe Tips Whilst Enjoying a Hot Drink
  • Select a mug or cup that makes you smile.  Maybe it reminds you of someone or has a funny or inspiring quote.
  • Select your favourite hot drink, a herbal tea, coffee, hot chocolate or lemon and honey 
  • Find a comfy chair with a view, maybe you can see your garden or a park nearby or look at your favourite photos or picture.
  • Can you use an essential oil defuser or lite a candle with a relaxing scent?
  • Pause and take some deep breaths, releasing any tension.  Breathe in the fresh air from your garden or your essential oils
  • Make a quick note of 3 things you are grateful for or that bring you joy. 
  • Enjoy your hot drink while it is still warm and repeat when you can.

Pause and Breathe Tips Whilst Washing Your Hands
  • Select your favourite soap with a relaxing scent
  • Use warm water
  • Laver hands with soap
  • Take deep breaths and in hale the relaxing scent of  your soap for 10 secs whilst washing your hands
  • Rinse, then dry hands on a clean towel
